Operator & Driver Policy

GoSL Transport · Last updated 8 September 2026

Requirements for transport companies, vehicles and drivers listing on GoSL Transport, including verification, safety and service standards.

1. Registration and approval

A transport company must register and be approved by a platform administrator before its departures become visible. Registration requires the legal company name, owner details, a contact phone number, an operating licence number, and supporting documents such as the licence and insurance certificate.

Approval is a check that documents were supplied and appear valid. It is not a warranty by us of the operator's performance. Approval can be withdrawn at any time.

2. Vehicle requirements

  • Every vehicle listed must be registered, roadworthy, insured for the carriage of fare-paying passengers, and hold a current inspection where required by law.
  • The plate number, model and seat layout published on the platform must match the actual vehicle.
  • Seat counts and layouts are set by the operator and must reflect real, usable, belted seating. Overloading is prohibited.
  • Maintenance must be recorded. The platform provides a maintenance register and alerts, and operators are expected to keep it current.

3. Driver verification and conduct

  • A driver must hold a valid licence for the class of vehicle, submit a licence photograph for verification, and be approved before being assigned to a departure.
  • Drivers must not drive while fatigued, intoxicated or medically unfit, and must observe speed limits, rest periods and traffic law.
  • Drivers must confirm departure and arrival honestly, report incidents promptly, and keep GPS sharing on for the duration of an active trip.
  • Drivers must treat passengers courteously and must not solicit payment outside the platform fare, discriminate against a passenger, or make unauthorised stops or route changes.

4. Service standards

  • Publish accurate departure times, fares and available seats, and honour published fares.
  • Do not double-sell a seat that the platform shows as reserved.
  • Where a departure is delayed, suspended or cancelled, mark it in the app with a reason so booked passengers are notified and can rebook.
  • Accept the platform QR ticket as proof of reservation, and mark payment and boarding accurately at the terminal.
  • Handle complaints and lost property within a reasonable time.

5. Terminal staff

Terminal staff are appointed by an operator or an administrator and are scoped to a named company and terminal. They may verify tickets, record cash payment, mark boarding and print receipts. They may not alter fares, view another operator's data, or handle records outside their terminal. Operators must deactivate staff access when a person leaves the role.

6. Financial conduct

Cash collected at the terminal belongs to the operator, which is responsible for recording it accurately in the platform, for issuing receipts, and for its own tax and accounting obligations. Deliberately under-recording payments, marking unpaid bookings as paid, or creating fictitious bookings is fraud and will result in removal from the platform.

7. Suspension of an operator

We may suspend or remove an operator for expired or false documents, unsafe vehicles, an unresolved serious safety incident, repeated cancellations, sustained poor ratings, fare manipulation, or fraud. Passengers with affected reservations will be notified and helped to rebook or claim a refund.
