Passenger Conduct & Safety Policy

GoSL Transport · Last updated 8 September 2026

Behaviour standards on the platform and on board, safety rules, prohibited items, emergencies and lost property.

1. Before travel

  • Book with your real name and a phone number that reaches you — the manifest and disruption notices depend on it.
  • Arrive at the terminal at least 30 minutes before departure unless the operator states otherwise.
  • Have your booking number or QR ticket ready; a saved copy in the app works without signal.
  • Cancel a reservation you no longer need so another traveller can take the seat.

2. On board

  • Sit in the seat shown on your ticket unless staff move you.
  • Treat the driver, staff and other passengers with respect. Threats, harassment, sexual harassment, discrimination and violence are never tolerated.
  • Do not smoke, and do not travel while intoxicated or in a state that endangers others.
  • Wear a seat belt where fitted and follow the driver's safety instructions.
  • Do not distract or obstruct the driver, or interfere with vehicle controls or doors.
  • Keep noise reasonable and keep the vehicle clean. Damage or deliberate soiling may be charged by the operator.

3. Prohibited items

  • Firearms, ammunition and weapons.
  • Explosives, fuel, gas cylinders, corrosives and other dangerous goods.
  • Illegal drugs and any goods that cannot lawfully be transported.
  • Live animals, except a recognised assistance animal or where the operator gives written permission.

Staff may refuse boarding, or remove a passenger, where prohibited items are found. No refund is due in that case, and the matter may be reported to the authorities.

4. Luggage

Luggage allowances are set by the operator. Keep valuables, identity documents, money and medication with you in the cabin. The operator is responsible for luggage placed in its care, subject to its conditions of carriage.

5. Emergencies

  • In a medical emergency, accident or security incident, tell the driver immediately and call the national emergency services.
  • The driver can raise an emergency alert from the driver dashboard, which notifies the operator and platform administrators with the trip and last known position.
  • Passengers should report an incident through the app or by contacting the operator, and may report it to us for independent record and investigation.
  • In a breakdown or cancellation, remain at the terminal or with the vehicle where it is safe, and follow the operator's instructions. Rebooking onto another departure on the same route is available in the app at no extra cost when a departure is cancelled or suspended.

6. Lost property

Report lost property to the operator's terminal desk as soon as possible with your booking number, the departure, and a description of the item. Found items are held by the operator, normally for 30 days, and returned to a person who can identify the item and show the matching booking record. Neither the operator nor the platform can guarantee recovery, and perishable or hazardous items may be disposed of sooner.

7. Consequences

Breach of this policy may lead to refusal of boarding, removal from a vehicle at a safe place, loss of the fare, suspension or closure of the account, a charge for damage, and where appropriate a report to law enforcement.
