Terms of Service
GoSL Transport · Last updated 8 September 2026
The rules for using the platform: who we are, what we do, what we do not do, and the obligations each party accepts.
1. Who we are and what this platform does
GoSL Transport is a reservation platform for intercity road travel in Sierra Leone and to neighbouring countries where an operator offers cross-border service. We allow a passenger to search departures, reserve a seat, receive a booking number with a QR ticket, and present that ticket at the terminal.
We are a marketplace and booking record system. The journey itself is sold and performed by an independent transport company (the "operator") using its own vehicles and drivers. We do not own vehicles, employ drivers, or operate departures.
2. The contract of carriage
When you confirm a reservation, you enter into two separate relationships: an agreement with us for the use of the platform, governed by these Terms, and a contract of carriage with the operator for the journey itself, governed by that operator's conditions of carriage and by Sierra Leone road transport law.
The operator is responsible for the departure taking place, for the roadworthiness of the vehicle, for the licensing and conduct of its driver, and for the safety of passengers and luggage in its care.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account. A passenger under 18 may travel when booked by, and where required accompanied by, a responsible adult.
- You must give accurate details. The passenger name and phone number on a ticket must belong to the person travelling.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping your password private. Tell us immediately if you believe someone else has access.
- One person, one account. Creating multiple accounts to evade a suspension, manipulate reviews, or hold seats is prohibited.
4. Roles on the platform
- Passengers search, reserve, pay and travel.
- Transport companies register, are reviewed and approved by us, and then publish routes, vehicles, seat layouts, fares and departures.
- Drivers are proposed by an operator, verified through a licence check, and confirm departure, arrival and incidents.
- Terminal staff are appointed by an operator for a named terminal, and may scan tickets, take cash payment and mark boarding.
- Platform administrators approve operators, investigate disputes, and may suspend any account.
Each role sees only the data its role requires. Attempting to obtain access to another role's data or another operator's records is a serious breach of these Terms.
5. Reservations, fares and payment
Fares are set by the operator and shown in New Leones before you confirm. A reservation holds a specific seat on a specific departure and is normally paid in cash at the terminal, where staff mark it as paid and can issue a printed receipt.
- A reservation is not transferable to another person unless the operator agrees.
- A seat that is not paid for and claimed by the boarding cut-off may be released by the operator.
- Where mobile money or card payment is introduced, the payment terms in the Payments, Cancellations and Refunds Policy will apply to that transaction.
6. Your responsibilities
- Arrive at the terminal in good time with your booking number or QR ticket.
- Carry valid identification where the operator or a border crossing requires it.
- Follow the Passenger Conduct and Safety Policy for the whole journey.
- Do not carry prohibited, dangerous or illegal goods.
- Do not use the platform to defraud an operator, another passenger, or us.
7. What we are responsible for — and what we are not
We are responsible for operating the reservation service with reasonable skill and care, for keeping an accurate booking record, and for handling your information as described in the Privacy Policy.
We are not the carrier. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for delay, breakdown, cancellation by an operator, road or weather conditions, loss or damage to luggage, personal injury during the journey, or the acts of a driver, operator or other passenger. Claims of that nature lie against the operator, and we will help you identify and contact the operator and provide your booking record in support of a claim.
Where we are found liable to you for any matter arising from the platform, our total liability is limited to the fare paid for the affected reservation.
8. Service availability
We aim to keep the platform available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Network coverage in Sierra Leone varies; the app stores your ticket on your device so your QR code can still be shown offline. Planned maintenance will be announced where practical.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account, remove a listing, or withdraw an operator's approval where we reasonably believe there has been fraud, a safety risk, repeated complaints, false verification documents, harassment, or a breach of these Terms. Where the situation allows, we give notice and an opportunity to respond; where there is an immediate safety or fraud risk, we act first and explain afterwards.
You may close your account at any time from your profile or by writing to us.
10. Changes, governing law and disputes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in the app and take effect for new reservations from the date shown. Continuing to use the platform after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Sierra Leone, and the courts of Sierra Leone have jurisdiction. Before going to court, please raise the matter through the Dispute Resolution Policy so we can attempt to resolve it directly.
